The Saints eclipsed their previous most-wins-season set back in 1991 with the 13 victories of 2009.

So, not surprisingly, with more victories comes several players setting marks in the All-Time Records Department. 2009 saw a couple of players moving up in the Career catagories while a couple more where added. Likewise, a few players' stats were good enough to make it to the Top-Seasons list.

Let's start with the given. Dree Brees has had yet another phenominal year. Since 2006 each of his 4 seasons as a Saint has ranked as some of the best in team history. 2009 was no different. He set a new team record with a 109.6 passer rating and tied the record of 34 touchdown passes he set last year. He also had the 10th most attempts ---514 [passing Archie Manning's 509 set in 1980]and the 3rd most completions ---363. The 4388 yards passing is 4th in team history. That honor was formerly held by Jim Everett, who had 3970 in 1995. On a side note, Brees' 70.6 completion percentage was an NFL record. He barely edged out Kenny Andersen's 70.55 set with the 1982 Bengals. Brees also currently holds the NFL record for completions in a season with 440 set in 2007.

Pierre Thomas
Pierre Thomas has 16 Rushing touchdowns as a Saint tying him for #10

He moved up in every career team passing catagory and set the new mark with 122 touchdown passes as a Saint. The former record was 115 set by Aaron Brooks. Brees moved to the #2 spot in Completions [1572], #3 in Attempts [2055] and yards [18298]. His 57 interceptions as a Saint ranks #5.

But Drew Brees wasn't the only member of the team to have an outstanding season. Marques Colston had the 9th best season in terms of receiving yards in team history [1074]. Free Agent pick-up Darren Sharper tied Dave Waymer for the #2 spot in most interceptions in a Saints season with 9 grabs. The team record is still held by Dave Whitshell [10] set back in the Saints first season of 1967. His 3 tds off those interceptions are a seasonal team record and places him #2 for a career [tying him with Jim Merlo and Brett Maxie]. His 99 yard TD return against the Jets is the longest in team history as well as his 376 return yards are the most.

There was also movement along some All-Time career leaders. Reggie Bush's 260 receptions moved him into the #8 spot for career receptions and he now has 17 touchdowns rushing placing him at #9 in the career rushing touchdowns department. Pierre Thomas's 16 scores ties him with Wayne Wilson and Ricky Williams at #10. Marques Colston continues to move up. With this last season, his 4th as a Saint, he now ranks 4th in receptions [285], 4th in yards [4074}] and 4th in receiving touchdowns [33].

Devery Henderson
Devery Henderson has 16 Touchdowns and 3094 yards in his career as a Saint

And finally, after 5 seasons as a New Orleans Saint, Devery Henderson has made the career receiving Touchdown list with 16 scores [9th, tied with Dave Parks and Torrence Small] and is 8th on the career receiving yards list with 3094.
