When linebacker Jonathan Vilma joined the New Orleans Saints in 2008 very big things where expected of the former All-Pro. A former First-Round Draft Pick in 2004 out of Miami of Florida, Vilma had tabbed almost 300 solo tackles in four seasons with the Jets.
Saints fans would not be disappointed. Vilma became an instant fan favorite with his emotional play and team leadership qualities. A main contributor on an aggressive Saints defense that complimented Drew Brees and the high scoring offense, the New Orleans Saints enjoyed a time of success that brought them four playoff seasons and a World Championship in Super Bowl 44 in 2009.
Here is a portrait of Jonathan Vilma done by Sports Artist Nick Keiser. More of Nick’s works of various athletes can be found on his FaceBook page – Nick Keiser Art.
