New Orleans Saints Uniform and Uniform Color History Video

One of the most interesting parts of New Orleans Saints History is the evolution of the New Orleans Saints uniforms. The Saints have gone through numerous uniform changes since their induction into the NFL in 1967 and each change has it’s own set of memories that are attached to them. I think that each one of us old school Saints fans have our own individual favorite uniform from some certain period in Saints History. For me it will always be the uniform set of the late 70s. That’s when I was a young boy watching the likes of Archie Manning and Tony Galbreath and Tommy Myers give Saints fans the first taste of winning they ever had.

Here’s a short little video from Sports Historian Scott Sillcox about the origin of the Saints uniforms and how Black & Gold were chosen as the team colors. Narrated by Scott Graham of NFL Films.

Scott is the president of Heritage Sports Art which has an enormous amount of framed sports art from both professional and college sports teams. If you would like to see the pieces of New Orleans Saints Art be sure to visit them at http://www.heritagesportsart.com/products/nfl/new-orleans-saints.
