In 1979 the New Orleans Saints were finally putting together something. The offense behind veteran quarterback Archie Manning was showing the NFL that it could be productive and put some points on the board. The running game as well was beginning to take off. Above Manning turns to hand the ball to half-back Chuck Muncie. That year, Muncie would become the first Saints runner to crack that 1000 yard mark as he would end the season with a total of 1198 yards and average 5.0 yards a carry. Likewise Muncie would make the Pro Bowl and be named to the UP All Pro Team as well.
