
Garo Yepremian joins the New Orleans Saints
When the First Round Draft pick of 1979, Texas kicker Russel Erxlebean, went down with an injury the Saints went scrambling for a kicker. Running Back Tony Galbreath filled in for one game, but it was clear that he wasn’t the solution.
So the Saints called up 13-year veteran kicker Garo Yepremian. Garo had been released by the Miami Dolphins after have a Pro Bowl year. He managed 75 point sfor the Saints on the year.
