In 1986 the New Orleans Saints quickly showed the NFL that they were not the team your normal Saints team. Head coach Jim Mora, along with Defensive Coordinator Steve Sidwell began to assemble a tenacious defense. By the end of the season the improved defense ranked 4th in take-a-ways and 7th in the NFL in points given up. They also managed 47 sacks.
