When the 1987 NFL season rolled around New Orleans Saints were finally given something to cheer about. Probably one of the biggest reasons to be proud was the ferocious defense that Jim Mora had assembled. At the forefront was the Dome Patrol. The 4 linebackers that would forever be enshrined in Who Dat history.Pictured above is middle line backer Vaughan Johnson. Johnson joined the Saints in 1986 after the United States Football League folded. He stayed a Saint until 1993 and was named to the Pro Bowl 4 times during his career.
The image is taken from a preseason game at the Super Dome in 1987 against Houston Oilers (now known as the Tennessee Titans) when Johnson recorded 14 tackles. He is credited with 664 during his career with New Orleans.
