The Saints got off to a slow start, losing the first 5 games of the season, but finished strong, winning 7 of the last 11 (including a 12-0 shutout of the Jets to wrap up the season). Everett had a good season, completing 60.8% of his passes for 3970 yards and 22 TDS. Against Miami he would throw 4 TDS alone. Bates rushed for 951 yards & 7 scores while grabbed 81 passes for 1087 yards and 8 TDS. Wayne Martin tied the NFC lead for sacks with 11 and Willie Roaf went to his 2nd Pro Bowl.
