Billy Kilmer Highlights with Ed Sabol Commentary

New Orleans Saints fans have been blessed with a success that the Who Dat Faithful of yesterday could only dream of. But despite years of shortcomings, many of our Saints possessed a drive and desire to win.

One of those such players was a former San Fransisco 49er named Billy Kilmer. Billy Kilmer joined the Saints in 1967 after being picked up in the expansion draft. He was expected to back up Gary Cuozzo and Ed Hargett but by season’s end, Kilmer had established himself as the undisputed leader of those early Saints.

Here is a short video brought to us by kwm380 that shows some highlights of Billy Kilmer playing against the Pittsburgh Steelers with NFL Films legend Ed Sabol commenting. Kilmer is miked during this time and you get just a hint of the competitive fire that resided in him.

I've been following the Saints since a kid in the 70s watching the likes of Archie Manning and Tommy Myers.
We may not have as grandiose a history as some NFL teams, but there are scores of memories the New Orleans Saints have given to their fans and I have done my best to record them here at New Orleans Saints History.
