There are plenty of changes to the  New Orleans Saints Top 10 Lists now that the 2013 New Orleans Saints Season has ended. As with every season since Sean Payton and company has taken over there was plenty of movement on the offensive side of the ball.

Starting with Drew Brees and passing game, Drew had another fine year. His third consecutive season with over 5000 yards passing (and his fourth over-all). The 5162 yards he racked up this season was actually his third best as a Saint (or the third best of any Saint quarterback). His attempts (650), completions (446), touchdowns ( 39) and passer rating (104.7) were also the third highest in New Orleans Saints History. One dubious note as far as the record books go is the 37 sacks on Drew this year was the 7th worst in team history and the most since Aaron Brooks was sacked 41 times in 2004.

As expected the Saints receiving corps was quite active as well in the Top 10 Lists. Jimmy Graham continues to become one of the top receivers in New Orleans Saints History.  His 16 touchdown catches set a new New Orleans Saints record. And this year, his 86 grabs ties Darren Sproles for the 5th most catches in a season and his 1215 yards were the 5th best for a Saints season as well.

It also come as no surprise that this offensive unit moved up set new marks with New Orleans Saints Career records as well. Of course, Drew Brees remains #1 in just literally every New Orleans Saint passing record that counts. His 4712 attempts, 3560 completions, 38,733 yards and 283 touchdown are all tops in the Saints record books.

Marcus Colston (607 catches) became the #1 New Orleans Saints receiver this year as he passed Eric Martin for that spot. Lance Moore actually fell a spot from #3 to #4, but moved ahead of Danny Abramowicz. Pierre Thomas jumped over such names as Tony Galbreath and Hoby Brenner to take the #5 spot with his 321 total catches. Jimmy Graham is following close behind at #7 with 301 catches.

Along with being #1 in Saints Career catches, Colston is the leader in in career receiving yards having passed up both Eric Martin and Joe Horn for that title. That mark is 8337 yards.  Colston’s 63 touchdown catches ranks #1 in New Orleans Saint history as well. Lance Moore finished 2013 with 4281 yards moving ahead of Hoby Brenner for the #6 spot. Jimmy Graham moved from the #12 spot all the way to #7. He has 3863 yards receiving.

Previously stated, Marcus Colston is the top scorer in Saints History. Jimmy Graham moved up to #4 (41) and Lance Moore holds steady at #5 (38).

And just in case you where wondering, Darren Sproles is #15 on the All Time New Orleans Saints Lists for Catches and Yards Receiving as a Saint.

No great strides were made in the running game, though Pierre Thomas did move up a bit in the Saint’s Career Rushing Records. He is now #7 in attempts (773) and passed up Rueben Mayes, Rickey Willams and Chuck Muncie for the #4 most rushing yards of all New Orleans Saints Runningbacks (3523). His 26 touchdowns ranks #5.

Rob Ryan’s defense is becoming to make it’s presence felt in the NFL. Cam Jordan’s 12-and-a half sacks for the season was actually the 6th best for Saint player while Junior Gallette’s 12 sacks tied the great Rickey Jackson for the 7th best season.

And even though Garrett Hartely finished the 2013 season on a bad note, he leaves the New Orleans Saints with 82 career fieldgoals. That’s #4 among New Orleans Saints kicker career records.

I've been following the Saints since a kid in the 70s watching the likes of Archie Manning and Tommy Myers.
We may not have as grandiose a history as some NFL teams, but there are scores of memories the New Orleans Saints have given to their fans and I have done my best to record them here at New Orleans Saints History.
