Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda Jim Mora’s famous Speech

Over the years Jim Mora has been know for his brutally honest interviews with the media. One of his very first such interviews was after a close loss to San Fransisco in 1987. His reaction became, what I think was a defining moment in New Orleans Saints History. Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda was a New Orleans Saints head coach letting a Saints’s team know that being second rate was no longer acceptable. That if the Saints wanted shake their losing stigma and join the ranks of the NFL elite that it was time to stop being satisfied with “almost” winning.

The 1987 Saints responded by winning their next 9 games and making the playoffs as an NFC wildcard team, the first New Orleans Saint team to accomplish that in 20 years of existence. And though it would still be another 22 years before a Saints team would bring a Championship home, Jim Mora’s leadership exemplified a new way of thinking in the Saints organization.

I've been following the Saints since a kid in the 70s watching the likes of Archie Manning and Tommy Myers.
We may not have as grandiose a history as some NFL teams, but there are scores of memories the New Orleans Saints have given to their fans and I have done my best to record them here at New Orleans Saints History.
