Even Head Coaches can get in on the fame!

Jim Mora joined the New Orleans Saints in 1986 after Bum Phillips resigned the year before. Mora is best known as the first head coach to bring the franchise a winning season and to get the team to post season play. The previous 6 head coaches with 20 seasons could only manage a combined total of 83 wins. In his 11 seasons with New Orleans Mora had 93 victories and 4 playoff appearances.  He was also leading the Saints during the hey-day of the famed Dome Patrol – the dominating Saints defense of the late 1980s and early 1990s.  Uncharacteristically blunt and painfully honest in interviews many of his post-game rants have become viral on social media even after almost 30 years.

But even with his turn-around of one of the NFL worst teams ever his biggest criticism was his lack of wins in the playoffs. Even with 2 playoff appearances as the Indianapolis Colts head coach he couldn’t produce a win.
