New Orleans Saints All-Pro Running Back Reuben Mayes scores

A rookie in 1986 Reuben Mayes was a 3rd round pick from Washington State. Expected to be a back-up in new head coach Jim Mora’s offense he quickly surprised fans and staff alike as he earned the staring role by the middle of the season. That year, 1986, he made the All-Pro team and was named Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Here he crosses the goal-line after a 27-yard touchdown run against the San Francisco 49ers during the November game of that season as the Saints go ahead 14-0 in the 1st quarter. He also scored on a 4-yard run earlier. The Saints finished the day with 23-10 victory as Mayes ended up with 128 yards and 2 touchdowns.
