Saints Are In The Playoffs!

Saints fans will remember the December 6, 1987 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Super Dome as the game that finally clinched a playoff spot for the New Orleans Saints for the first ever in franchise history. Here is WWL’s 4th Down on 4 special celebrating the joyous realization that for the first time in the 21 years of their existence, the New Orleans Saints would be in the NFL playoffs.

Included in this episode are, of course highlights of the 44-33 win over the Bucs as well as highlights of other NFL action that week. A one-on-one interview by announcer Chris Myers with long-time offensive lineman Stan Brock and comments from Saints players Bobby Hebert, Eric Martin, Rickey Jackson and Saints head coach Jim Mora.

And as an encore, Dr. John & Luther Kent sign a rendition of “As the Saints Go Marching In” to a highlight reel of that magical 1987 New Orleans Saints season with plenty of nostalgic Saints action.

Thanks once again to galaxies352 for all the Saints Memories that he shares with us.

I've been following the Saints since a kid in the 70s watching the likes of Archie Manning and Tommy Myers.
We may not have as grandiose a history as some NFL teams, but there are scores of memories the New Orleans Saints have given to their fans and I have done my best to record them here at New Orleans Saints History.
