Email: [email protected] | Twitter: @WWLTVMETAIRIE, La. — The Saints have cut kicker Garrett Hartley after he missed a field goal and had another blocked this past weekend’s in a loss in St. Louis.

Hartley has been erratic much of the season, making only 22 of 30 field goal tries, which puts him ahead of only two kickers in percentage made.

Coach Sean Payton has stood in his corner, at least publicly, but he did bring in kickers after Hartley had a tough week earlier in the year. However, he elected to stay with Hartley.

There was no such vote of confidence after Sunday’s rough outing.

Hartley is a hero to many Saints fans for his kick that put the Saints into the Super Bowl in 2010.

I've been following the Saints since a kid in the 70s watching the likes of Archie Manning and Tommy Myers.
We may not have as grandiose a history as some NFL teams, but there are scores of memories the New Orleans Saints have given to their fans and I have done my best to record them here at New Orleans Saints History.
