The New Orleans Saints ended the 1987 NFL season on the highest note yet. Morten Andersen kicked 4 field goals as Saints beat the Green Bay Packers to finish the season with a 9-game winning streak as they prepare for the Saints first ever play game.

Here is WWL’s 4th Down on 4 episode describing that win. Also featured is a one-on-one with Saint’s Special Teams coach Joe Marciano as well as a quick sit down with linebacker Pat Swilling.

There’s also a detailed summary of Saints football up to that point. A talk with former Saints head coach Tom Fears, the first ever Head Coach of the New Orleans Saints, as Fears describes some of the early problems that faced those early Saints teams. General Manager Jim Finks speaks on some of things that led up to the success of those New Orleans Saints teams. Coach Jim Mora and owner Tom Benson share their thoughts on that year and the upcoming first ever playoff game for the Saints against the Minnesota Vikings in the Super Dome.

Phil

I've been following the Saints since a kid in the 70s watching the likes of Archie Manning and Tommy Myers. We may not have as grandiose a history as some NFL teams, but there are scores of memories the New Orleans Saints have given to their fans and I have done my best to record them here at New Orleans Saints History.
